Kim Brown is a proud mother of three and a dedicated community member who has called Rideau Lakes home for the past 16 years. As an occasional teacher with the

Upper Canada District School Board, she has worked across both elementary and secondary schools, supporting local students, families, and fellow educators. A passionate advocate for workers, accessibility, and human rights, she serves on the ETFO local executive as well as the OSSTF District 26 executive as Health and Safety Officer. Her strong commitment to inclusion is further reflected in her work with the Rideau Lakes Township Accessibility Advisory Committee, where she served as Chair from 2019 to 2022. Through leadership development programs with ETFO, the Canadian Teachers’ Federation, and the Canadian Labour Congress, Kim has continuously strengthened her ability to listen actively and build consensus. Her leadership experience also includes chairing ETFO’s Disability and Accessibility Issues Standing Committee from 2021 to 2025 and serving on ETFO’s Human Rights Standing Committee.

In her campaign, Kim focuses on building consensus and working collaboratively for the good of the Township. She is dedicated to the fiscally responsible management of Township infrastructure, services, and municipally owned properties, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and on budget. Central to her platform is representing the community effectively by bringing resident voices to the council table through direct consultations, town halls, face-to-face meetings, C.E.C., and timely responses to local concerns. Additionally, Kim advocates for productive Council meetings conducted under Robert’s Rules of Order and maintains a deep respect for Township staff, their workplace, and the essential work they perform for the community.
