There’s something new brewing in Elgin, and it smells delicious. Julianna’s, a café nestled in Elgin at 15 Main Street, has officially opened its doors, offering a welcoming spot for residents and visitors to enjoy coffee, breakfast and lunch in the heart of the village.
The café is owned and operated by April Gibson-Turnbull and Kristine Cyr, who are already well known in the area for their previous business, Sub Zero, in Delta. With Julianna’s, they’re bringing that same sense of friendly service and community spirit to Elgin, while introducing a fresh concept focused on coffee and light fare.
The name of the café “Julianna’s” holds a special, sentimental meaning for the owners. “Julianna’s is named after my sister Julia and Kristine’s mother Anna, both who left our lives too soon,” shared April. “Having this café allows us the opportunity to continue to honour them every day through our coffee, food and friendly service.”
The menu is growing and evolving as April and Kristine receive feedback from customers. Current favourites include breakfast sandwiches, cheddar and scallion biscuits, and triple berry muffins — perfect for anyone looking for a quick bite to start the day. The café also offers an assortment of baked goods and lunch options that will continue to expand in the coming months.
“The baking has been a huge hit, and we have cleared our cabinet almost every day!” April added. “We are overwhelmed and welcome such support and kind words from our patrons and those who come in to check us out. We are looking forward to what is to come!”
Julianna’s proudly serves coffee from Coutts Coffee Roastery & Café, a small-batch roaster based in Perth, Ont. The locally roasted beans add a distinctive touch to the café’s offerings and have already become a favourite among customers.
While primarily designed for takeout, Julianna’s features a few seats for those who wish to stop in for a short visit. It’s a welcome addition to Elgin’s growing lineup of small businesses.
A Grand Opening is scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 2 at 10 a.m., with a ribbon-cutting ceremony featuring the Mayor and Township representatives.
Julianna’s is already open Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The café is closed on Sundays.

With its evolving menu, locally roasted coffee, and heartfelt story, Julianna’s adds a new flavour to downtown Elgin — and a personal touch that’s already started to resonate with the community.
