John Fenik has announced that he will be seeking election to Rideau Lakes Council this fall as a candidate for Mayor.
Fenik describes himself as “a dedicated public servant, educator, and creative mind with a career spanning more than four decades.”
He has worked in social services, education, municipal government, publishing and the arts. He later worked as a college instructor.
His municipal experience includes over two decades on council, including 16 years as mayor of Perth, as well as service at the county level. During that time, he served as warden of Lanark County for three terms and was involved with a range of community boards and organizations focused on health care, housing, policing and regional development.
Fenik says his “commitment to supporting families and youth has shaped much of his career.” He further says his background reflects “a strong commitment to community service, creative expression, and leadership.”
