Dustin Bulloch Running for Ward 3 Council Seat
Updated: Sep 22

Dustin Bulloch is seeking re-election as councillor for Ward 3 (South Crosby) in the 2026
Rideau Lakes municipal election.
Bulloch was born and raised in the Rideau Lakes area. He and his wife have two school-aged children who, as he puts it, "keep us busy whether we want to be or not."
He has worked with Parks Canada on the Rideau Canal since 2007, spending much of that time in canal operations. He currently serves as technical services co-ordinator for dams, overseeing the asset management and dam safety program on the Rideau Canal.
Throughout his career with Parks Canada, Bulloch has worked in several operations management and water management functions. He was the lockmaster at Davis Lock for several years and, more recently, at Kingston Mills Locks.
Bulloch graduated from Carleton University in 2010 with a BA Combined Honours in history and political science.
He currently holds the positions of chief shop steward for the Union of Canadian Transportation Employees Local 61 and employee co-chair of the Rideau Canal Occupational Health and Safety Committee. He also serves as an employee representative on the Parks Canada National Pay Equity Committee.
Bulloch has a keen personal interest in history and has been involved with local heritage groups and initiatives for several years. Before joining Rideau Lakes Council following the South Crosby by-election last year, he was an active member of the Rideau Lakes Public Library Board and the Rideau Lakes Municipal Heritage Advisory Committee.
He remains an active supporter and champion of the library and frequently volunteers his time to local heritage initiatives.
"Just over a year ago, I ran in the South Crosby Ward by-election with the explicit purpose of being an effective representative for the ward and bringing a positive and constructive voice to the council table," Bulloch said. "I have worked hard to achieve these goals and wish to re-commit myself to continuing to serve the residents of South Crosby in the next term of council."
Looking ahead to the township's 30th anniversary in 2028, Bulloch said the milestone provides an opportunity to reflect on Rideau Lakes' past and consider its future.
"In 2028, the Township of Rideau Lakes will mark 30 years since its amalgamation. I believe this upcoming term is the time to celebrate our achievements, reflect on what’s working, on what needs to be improved and, most importantly, to consider where we want Rideau Lakes to be 30 years from now," Bulloch said.
"I see this milestone as an opportunity to think big and consider what kind of future we want to steward for ourselves, our children and the future residents of our community. As I canvas South Crosby this election, I will be asking residents these questions with the purpose of initiating discussion on their thoughts, ideas and hopes about the future."
Bulloch said he believes strongly in the importance of public stewardship and will continue to champion public policies that materially improve the lives of people in Rideau Lakes.
